Additional heating? Take advantage of your Split installation with IRSC PDF Print E-mail

Radiant floor installation with Split as additional heating.

The more functionality assigned to a device, the more useful and more profitable it becomes.

In this case, the documentation explains how to integrate an additional heating source in a radiant floor installation. The radiant floor is a slow thermal inertia system, it means it takes long time to get the new setpoint. In the other hand, the Split is a very fast system (the air systems are, usually, very high inertia systems)

Therefore, in order to take advantage of a Split which is in a KNX system consists of use it as additional heating (or even as a additional cooling when using radiant floor for cooling). When a big difference between setpoint happens (for example, switching from stand by mode to comfort mode), the Z38 thermostat will demand an additional heating source, turning on the Split, which is in the KNX through the IRSC, improving significantly the feeling of comfort.
